How Do I Use the Game Schedule Uploader?

This guide will walk you through the steps to upload a game schedule using a CSV file. With just a correctly formatted CSV document, you can quickly upload your game schedule to the Playbook platform.

Steps to Upload a Game Schedule

1. Log in to the Playbook Back End

2. Navigate to the Admin Tools Section

  • From the top navigation bar, select Admin Tools, then go to the Upload Portal.

3. Select the Upload Type

  • In the Upload Portal, choose the upload type by clicking the box. Select Games from the dropdown options.

4. Download the CSV Template

  • Click the orange Download Template button to get the template that you will use to format your CSV file.

5. Prepare Your CSV File

  • Create your CSV file using the downloaded template. Ensure that the following field-specific and general formatting rules are followed to avoid issues:

    • Field-Specific Information

      • Date Format: YYYY/MM/DD
      • Time Format: 24-hour clock (e.g., 19:30 for 7:30 PM)
      • Home Team & Away Team: Must exactly match the team names in the chosen season
      • Location & Sublocation Names: Must exactly match the names in the system and already exist in the system

    • General Formatting Rules

      • Character Restrictions: Avoid using emojis and foreign language characters—only use English characters.
      • Remove Placeholder Values: If you're using the downloaded template, ensure you remove any placeholder values.

6. Upload the CSV File

  • Once your CSV file is ready, return to the Upload Portal and click the Upload CSV File button.

7. Select Your CSV File

  • Choose the .csv file from your device that contains the game schedule you want to upload.

8. Select the Season

  • In the Season dropdown menu, select the specific season into which you want to import the game schedule.

9. Submit the CSV

  • Click Submit Games CSV to upload your file.

 

Once the upload is complete, you will be redirected back to the Upload Portal. A green banner will appear, stating: "Games are currently being processed. An email will be sent when it has been completed!"

 

NOTE: If any games are in an incorrect format, they will appear under the Bad Rows section. These games were not uploaded and will need to be reviewed and corrected before re-uploading.
